Bacteria help in micro biology class?

we had to do this lab where we went out and collected bacteria around my school and had to classify them and count colonies. i was wondering how do the bacteria from air differ from the bacteria found on the human body??? and also how can you tell if the bacteria is disease producing (Pathogenic)??

Bacteria help in micro biology class?
First of all some bacteria in the air will be in your body soon and some in your body will be in the air soon. But if you mean the enteric bacteria that lives in the intestines they can be distinguished bey their need for a 36 degrees of Celsius temperature and some other conditions similar to human body.

You can test the pathogenicity of the bacteria fist by inoculating them on a medium and testing for the presence of known toxins and then you can try them on lab animals if you are cruel enough or if the situation is very serious.
Reply:You need to know this for HS Biology? Jesus, I dont remember doing anything of the sort in COLLEGE biology and I majored in it!!
