I took some meds before i found out and then they prescribed me levquin iwasnt able to keep taking it due to the fact i found out i was pregnant. My ob.gyn is saying ic ant take any medicine right now for my bacteria infection just drink lots of water and eat yogurt and try to refrain from sex. Is that right tho?? can they not give me anything for it and how long will it take before they can? what's the effects of long term having an bacteria infection whle being pregnant? thank you

Severe Bacteria infection??
Take your doctors advice. You're pregnant. Drink lots of water, eat good food, eat yogurt, the infection will go away on it's own if you have a good immune system,. Stress will make the situation last longer. Relax.
Reply:I would get a second opinion on that. You may not be able to take that particular medication, but you can take something. People are prescribed steriods during pregnancy so I know u can.
Reply:Get a second opinion... if they say the same thing then listen to them. Doesn't seem right to me... but you can also drink lots of cranberry juice.
Reply:Your health is very important and the health of that unborn child.

Listen to the doctors and don't take this matter in your own hands.

Your not a doctor and your decision to go against the doctors could hurt you and your unborn child.

Be safe...be wise...do right and by no means do anyting to hurt your precisou one you carry .

Be good Momma!
Reply:that doesnt sound correct, you could become septic if there is an infection that isnt treated, and then it could spread to the baby. i would ask for a second opinion....good luck!!
Reply:It is highly common for women to get bacteria infections while they are pregnant. Your Dr. is doing the right thing. It is healthier for you to try and fight it off naturally because the baby can reject the medicine. I could add to try cranberry and V8 juice. You would be surprised of the pregnant women that go through this problem...
Reply:Your doctor said to eat the yogurt. Have u tried inserting the plain yogurt into your vagina? THIS DOES WORK!!!!
Reply:I think you are talking about bacterial vaginosis (BV). Any discharge? what other symptoms? All medicines will affect baby. Here is what I recommend-

Add 20 drops of Geranium and 20 drops of Sandalwood to 200ml of pure aloe gel to become 1% gel. Treat your vagina after rinse twice a day (in and out). If you find it irritating, use 12 drops each only (to becme 0.6%). Do it for 3 weeks consecutively. Then use 0.3-0.4% for future sex as a protection and lubricant, and daily maintenance.

It normally takes 2-3 weeks to recover from BV.

Since sandalwwod is very expensive, you can use tea tree instead. But it wouldn't smell good, and more irritating.

Otherwise, if you live in Toronto or Vancouver, and you want to save trouble (don't want to make your own), you can contact me, my agents and distributors to get "Natural Feminine Gel" or "Feminine Spray".

If it is viral infection, you want to contact doc or professionals asap. Let me know the test result and details of symptoms before I can give you suggestions on viral infections. They are very bad too babies (could cause genetic defect problem)
Reply:That is wrong. Your doc should treat your bacterial infection. Not only is it bad for you, it can be harmful to your baby not to get this treated. Please get a second opinion.
