Bacteria question?

Hi

I was wondering if there is a bacteria that can engulf acne causing bacteria on the body? Would it be possible to genetically modify a bacteria to do this?

Thanks

Bacteria question?
It could happen. A better bet would be to start with a bacteriophage, a kind of virus that infects and kills only bacteria. The phage would have to be adapted to the kinds of bacteria that cause acne, but that shouldn't be especially hard.
Reply:Eliminate caffeine (sodas, coffee, etc) in your diet and use Proactive.
Reply:Bacteria don't generally engulf other bacteria. That is more what eukaryotes do. They have a rigid cell wall and excrete enzymes to digest compounds externally. There are bacteria that secrete chemicals that kill other bacteria and they are some of the more effective antibiotics. That seems perfectly possible and they could even possibly enhance them to be specific to a particular bacteria that could be causing problems.
